I have been enjoying many of Sonia's menue items for the last several years, when at my cottage on Garden Lake adjacent to Chenaux.

Sonia's Restaurant

Well... where do I start.... we've had the time of our life doing this project. Let me start from the beginning.

We purchased the building in December of 2005. A couple of months later, we decided to build a pizzeria-cafe. We took almost 2 years to complete this project as we did most of the work ourselves. We took our time because we wanted this to be a very unique place. We picked up marine decor from different places between Renfrew & Nova Scotia.

The building was in very rough shape when we bought it and by doing all this work, we feel that we saved a piece of history in the Pontiac area. This building has been around for over 100 years.... well... the most part of the building. The fire of 1914 took most of the structure leaving only the foundation original.

The building has had many faces in the past. It's been a general store, theatre, post office and now a restaurant.
